Mu Lu was regarded as one of the Mu Family's key young talents. His cultivation was described inconsistently as Seven-stage or Eight Duan Dou Qi, but he fought with at least the power needed to employ a Yellow-tier Advanced technique. 8 9 10

Personality

Mu Lu was arrogant, aggressive, and intensely concerned with status and public face. He mocked Nalan Chaoge as a “good-for-nothing,” reacted violently to the “female donkey” nickname, and attempted to establish superiority through wealth, cultivation, and threats. 8

His pride repeatedly left him vulnerable to provocation. After trying to buy every First-tier Magic Core in Holy City's Mite'er warehouses, he withdrew when confronted with the six-million-gold cost. 8 He also underestimated Chaoge's concealed strength and agreed to a Life-and-Death Pact with his own life as the stake. 9 10

Relationships

• Nalan Chaoge — romantic rival for Yaoye and eventual killer. Their dispute began with mutual insults at the Mitel Auction House and ended in a fatal sanctioned duel. 8 9 11
• Grand Princess Yaoye — both Mu Lu and Chaoge had proposed marriage to her, making her the political basis of their rivalry. 8 10
• Guo'er — Mu Lu insulted her and attempted to strike her; he later demanded her as part of his wager against Chaoge. 9
• Pigu — Mitel Auction House representative who tried to mediate their confrontation; Mu Lu threatened him when he intervened. 8
• Mu Tie, Mu Tong, Mu Yin, and Mu Jin — Mu Lu's four older brothers. 8

Story Role / Major Arcs

Mitel Auction House Conflict

Mu Lu encountered Nalan Chaoge while Chaoge was seeking a First-tier Magic Core. He publicly mocked Chaoge for buying the cheapest available item and was identified as a competing suitor for Yaoye. 8

Chaoge retaliated with the “female donkey” nickname. Mu Lu tried to retaliate economically by asking about purchasing all available First-tier Magic Cores, only to be humiliated when Pigu calculated that the 12,000 cores would cost six million gold coins. 8

Life-and-Death Pact

After Guo'er insulted him in return, Mu Lu attacked her with a Dou Qi-infused punch. Chaoge intervened, and the escalating conflict was temporarily restrained by Ya Fei. 9

Mu Lu then proposed a one-on-one duel: if Chaoge lost, he would crawl beneath Mu Lu's legs and surrender Guo'er; if Mu Lu lost, Chaoge could kill or mutilate him. Chaoge refused to wager Guo'er's fate but accepted the pact with his own life as the alternative stake. 9

Death

In their street duel, Mu Lu twice struck Chaoge's clones with Iron Wall Fist, leaving himself open to counterattacks. Chaoge used the Eight Inner Gates and Front Lotus Technique to drive him into the ground. 10

Mu Lu died from the impact. The Nalan Family, Imperial Family, and Mite'er Family subsequently compensated the Mu Family rather than surrender Chaoge, while the Mu Family retained a grudge and considered future revenge. 11 12
