After a spell of spinning skies and turning earth, Zhao Sheng abruptly opened his eyes and looked around.
Before him lay rows of dilapidated shops on either side of a ruined street some three hundred zhang long.
He had not come here for decades, and the long street had grown even more decrepit than before, with far fewer people about.
Zhao Sheng looked ahead and saw only a dozen or so figures on the street, with merely three stalls selling treasures.
Yet besides humans, there was actually a foreign race member here: a one-eyed Giant nearly three zhang tall. His upper body was bare, while his lower half was wrapped in a leather skirt stitched together from countless beast hides. Beside him lay a stone club as thick as a bucket and over four zhang long. Its surface was covered in crystalline dark-blue metal, radiating brilliant starlike blue light. It was clearly no ordinary object.
This one-eyed Giant was hideously ugly, with grayish-brown skin. His pancake-like face had no features except for a fist-sized crimson vertical eye in the center of his brow and a gaping bloody mouth. Fangs jutted from his mouth, making him look ferocious and terrifying.
Without question, the one-eyed Giant had become the most eye-catching "cub" on this long street. Everyone's gaze, intentional or not, swept over him.
Perhaps it was because of his naturally rough and carefree disposition.
The one-eyed Giant paid no attention to the scrutiny around him. He sat cross-legged on the ground without a care, a glossy grayish-white hide spread before him. Many treasures lay scattered atop it, most of them Spirit Mine ores, age-old spirit herbs, demon cores, bones, scales, hides, and other Spirit Materials from various demon beasts.
At that moment, Zhao Zongze came closer. While eyeing the one-eyed Giant
