The awning boat slowly docked. The Middle-aged Scholar lifted his robe hem, stepped off the prow, and stood on shore.
Zhao Sheng sized the man up and saw that his eyes were clear and bright, as though he did not recognize him at all.
Hmm? Seeing this, Zhao Sheng's heart stirred. He suddenly cupped his hands and said, "Brother, how should I address you?"
The Middle-aged Scholar did not answer. Instead, he pointed at a teahouse not far away and said, "Why don't you and I sit over there for a while? I have many questions to ask as well."
"Fine." Hearing these very familiar words, Zhao Sheng found the feeling in his heart growing stranger and stranger, yet he agreed at once.
Before long, the two entered the restaurant and chose a private room.
After the waiter had served all the tea, Zhao Sheng instructed Chen San to withdraw as well, until only the two of them remained in the room.
By then, Zhao Sheng had already discovered one fact: the Middle-aged Scholar had absolutely no memories of "yesterday."
In other words, he remembered yesterday, but the other man did not! This only made matters even more baffling.
Just as Zhao Sheng was pondering the reason, the Middle-aged Scholar raised his teacup and laughed heartily. "Ha ha! This old man is Nangong Wuliang. Greetings, fellow Daoist."
Zhao Sheng came back to himself, raised his cup in return, and smiled. "I am Zhao Gongzhu. Greetings, Fellow Daoist Nangong Wuliang."
What followed was very similar to their conversation yesterday.
When Zhao Sheng mentioned making some noise to draw other fellow cultivators here, the Middle-aged Scholar seemed to suddenly see the light.
Yet the next development
