Final Thoughts and New Book

At last, it was finished. First, an apology. After pandemic restrictions were lifted last year, my company started bidding on projects like crazy. We won six or seven major projects, but barely hired any new people. They practically wanted to split one person into several. At my busiest, not only did I have to handle my own project, but I also had to review changes for two other projects. I simply couldn't keep up, so for most of last year, I could only manage one chapter every two days.

After the New Year this year, I quit my job to write full-time. I pulled myself together for a while, but once I got to Lord of All Realms, I completely hit a wall and damn well went back to one update a day. It was downright ugly. For the past half month or so, I hadn't even dared to look at the book reviews.

There was also something pretty funny: I had planned for two female leads when I started the book, but they began disappearing halfway through. By the ending, I couldn't even be bothered to mention them. It was awkward for everyone to read, and awkward for me to write. Forget it—I've decided not to write a female lead from the very beginning in my next book.

After criticizing myself, I still wanted to praise myself a little. Despite all the difficulties along the way, and despite this book's performance not even reaching one-tenth of my previous two books, I still persisted and finished it. I managed to salvage a little of my integrity.

I still haven't decided on the next book. I could afford not to care about this book's performance, but I can't do that with the next one. I told my family I would spend
