Maple Syrup sat in a green velvet armchair by the window of the Gemstone Shop, hugging a cup full of Moo Moo Milk as she watched the two young children meet up at the shop entrance.
Their little heads huddled together as they whispered about something.
It was probably related to Moonlight Wetland.
They were among the few children in town still trying to earn money and attend Magic School.
There was another one... Oh, he had come too.
Maple Syrup looked toward the little head peeking out from the alley across the street. The tiny flame at the end of his hair drifted above his head as he secretly watched the two children at the Gemstone Shop entrance.
Before long, the child whose wings glowed noticed the little boy spying on them. She whispered a few words to the child with the dog tail, and seconds later, they both charged at him.
The three children chased one another out of Maple Syrup's sight.
She found it immensely entertaining—the most interesting thing she had encountered since inexplicably arriving in this world.
She hopped down from the sofa and found her mother in the gem workshop behind the shop. "Mother~"
The parents in this world were exactly like her parents in Forest Sea, even sharing some of the same habits. If not for their different professions, abilities, and living environment—and the fact that her sisters had not come—she would have suspected that her whole family had arrived in this world together.
The woman cutting gemstones asked, "What is it?"
Maple Syrup said, "Mother, will I go to Moonlight Wetland to study next year?"
Her mother's voice was gentle, filled with affection obvious to anyone who heard it. "Of course. Our little Maple Syrup only needs to eat well and grow up
