I'm Going to Train

"I'm full. You all eat slowly. I'm going to train."

Amid the clatter of bowls and chopsticks, Chiba set down his enormous bowl and suddenly stood up.

The clattering in the room came to an abrupt halt. Kakashi, Obito, and Rin all looked up, watching Chiba thunder out of the kitchen with baffled expressions.

After pausing briefly, Yukina, Nao, and Hirohiko simply continued eating as if it were perfectly normal.

"Oh, it's nothing. Chiba's always like this."

Seemingly sensing Kakashi and the others' surprise, Yukina hurriedly added.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

Just as Yukina finished speaking, the sound of flesh striking wooden posts rang out from outside.

"That guy really is a training idiot."

After hearing Yukina's explanation, along with the bangs outside that seemed to echo her words, Obito picked up his chopsticks again, unceremoniously grabbed some meat, swallowed it with rice, and mumbled through his mouthful.

The moment he said that, the clatter of bowls and chopsticks that had gradually resumed suddenly stopped again. Everyone else's gaze instantly fell on him.

If Chiba heard Obito calling him an idiot, would he lose his temper...?

That thought surfaced in their minds.

Obito, meanwhile, kept his head down and ate as though he had noticed nothing unusual around him. Gradually, everyone looked away and returned to their meals. Nao, Yukina, and Rin slowly began chatting about things girls liked—such as where to find pretty accessories or comfortable clothes. They did not mention Chakra, ninjutsu, or anything else related to being ninja.

As for the boys, Obito kept eating with his head down, while Kakashi worked his way through the dishes on the table. Hirohiko was also mostly focused on eating, but at some point, his eyes had turned crimson. His Three Tomoe Sharingan occasionally studied Kakashi's mask, and he frowned now
