The Banquet Ends

"We'll be going, then!"

It was nearing nine. After finishing the feast, everyone was tired from all the fun and games. Seeing that it was about time, they prepared to leave, standing up one after another to bid the hosts farewell.

"Come on, Guy, be careful!"

As everyone got to their feet, Genma helplessly helped up Guy, who had been lying flat on the floor with his belly swollen like a balloon and was now struggling to stand.

"Next time... next time... I won't... ugh..."

After being helped up, Guy looked toward Chiba, who was rising with the others, as if he wanted to say something. But halfway through, he suddenly clapped a hand over his mouth, his eyes widening as tears filled their corners.

"I told you, competing with Chiba to see who could eat more? Aren't you just asking for death? This guy is a famous glutton. I remember last time, you got utterly crushed too... no, maybe that was Obito. Either way, there's already precedent. Couldn't you learn a lesson?"

At this point, Ebisu came over from behind to lend a hand, grumbling as he did.

"Mmmph, mmmph... urgh!"

Hearing that, Guy seemed to want to argue, but with his mouth covered by his own hand, he could only make muffled noises. After only a few sounds, he was unable to speak again, desperately suppressing the urge to vomit.

"Heh..."

Seeing Guy like this, Genma covered his forehead with one hand and let out a long sigh. Then, together with Ebisu, he helped the guy outside.

During dinner, Guy had challenged Chiba. For some reason, Chiba had actually accepted. They decided the winner would be determined by both eating speed and quantity, and the attention of the entire feast was immediately seized by those two ravenous gluttons.
