And so late at night.
Chiba blinked, his hand frozen on the door, somewhat dazed. Hirohiko and Yukina behind him wore much the same expressions.
Clearly, Kushina's appearance had caught them off guard as well, and for a moment, none of them knew what to say.

Seeing the three of them, Kushina's lips twitched slightly, and she raised her voice several notches.
At once, all three of them hunched their shoulders. A familiar chill rose up their backs, and as their shoulders jerked, they shuddered in unison.
"Yes!"
They answered together.
Then they quickly took off their shoes and entered, walking up to Kushina with faint looks of fear on their faces.
Looking at Kushina before them, the three swiftly recalled the terror of this teacher who had taught them, as well as those heavy fists of hers.
"Sit."
Seeing her students obediently come inside, Kushina seemed quite satisfied. She nodded and spoke in a slightly gentler tone.
Yet beneath the lamplight, her face looked overly pale, as though she were somewhat haggard.
"Yes!"
Chiba and the other two hurriedly answered and sat down opposite Kushina, their backs to the door.
Come to think of it, they had not seen Kushina in a long time. As he sat down, Chiba suddenly thought of this and felt rather sentimental.
