Hirohiko crouched, taking out a blood-stained bandage from his Ninja Tool Pouch and wrapping it around his left eye as he struggled to steady his breathing. Sweat mixed with blood, streaming down the left side of his face and dripping onto the grass.
Clearly, although using a Mangekyō-level genjutsu had successfully controlled that Kumogakure ninja, he had also suffered backlash from the Mangekyō Sharingan's ocular power. The backlash was far too strong; his ordinary Sharingan simply could not bear the burden. His left eye had already sustained serious damage and was bleeding nonstop. He had likely injured some vital ocular vessels. Without effective treatment, he might lose that eye.
But treatment was not an option for him right now. He could only make do with a Medical Chakra bandage and see whether he could stop the bleeding first. If it continued like this, whether his eye could be saved was uncertain, but he would definitely lose his ability to fight from excessive blood loss—especially now that the effects of Chiba's Secret Medicine-grade Ration Ball had faded.

Hirohiko raised both hands behind his head, gripped the bandage ends, and pulled hard, tying them into a dead knot. He could not help sucking in a breath. The tightening knot directly touched some pain nerve in his eye, and agonizing pain instantly drilled into his brain.
Release! Then, he formed a two-finger seal and released the storage seal on the Medical Chakra bandage. At once, a faint pale-green glow seeped through the bandage over his left eye. Warmth mixed into the pain in his eye, gradually easing it. Even the agony piercing his mind seemed to lessen.
The blood slowly seeping through the bandage over his left eye also began to slow.
