Danzo's expression darkened when he saw Kakuzu being so disrespectful.

Recently, someone in the Black Market had raised Danzo's bounty by another forty million. How could he possibly pass up such a Big Fat Sheep?

Last time, he had nearly gambled away even his underwear on the odds White Zetsu had set. Now he was waiting to recover some losses with Danzo's head!

Although he did not know what method Danzo had used to come back to life, he did not believe it came without a price.

After all, Kakuzu's Earth Grudge Fear relied on stealing other people's hearts to burn through, and it had turned him into neither man nor ghost just to keep living.

At that thought, Kakuzu licked his lips. A technique that allowed someone to revive endlessly only made him more interested in Danzo.

"Danzo, this old man once assassinated the First Hokage. Even the current Fourth Hokage could only fight me to a draw back then! My standards are naturally high. Those without enough strength cannot join the Akatsuki Organization. I was merely testing your abilities for the leader. What, you dissatisfied?"

No one spoke. Clearly, this was not the first time they had heard such words, especially the parts about the First Hokage and Fourth Hokage... their ears were practically growing calluses from hearing them.

Danzo merely snorted. "I think it would be better to team up with Fugaku. We are both from Konoha, so we would have better coordination."

Danzo had set his sights on Fugaku's Mangekyo Sharingan again.

Fugaku had, after all, led the Konoha Crush Plan. Danzo had witnessed the scene that night himself, so how could he not be tempted?
