Revive, Mother!

Ever since Kaguya created him, Black Zetsu had done little else over the past thousand years or so. He had probably only carried out three trivial tasks:

First, lie low and stay alive until Hagoromo died.

Second, form the Rinnegan, revive the Ten-Tails, and become its Jinchuriki.

Third, cast the Infinite Tsukuyomi.

The first task was the foundation for the latter two. After all, if Black Zetsu died, the latter two would become impossible as well.

The second task was also crucial. The Ten-Tails' Jinchuriki would serve as the vessel for Kaguya's descent.

The final task, casting the Infinite Tsukuyomi, was equally important.

Not just anyone could cast this technique. First, they had to possess the Rinne Sharingan.

The wielder of the Rinne Sharingan would project its ocular power onto the moon, plunging everyone in the world into a Genjutsu. They would then be wrapped by the Divine Tree, which absorbed their Chakra to nurture a new fruit. If the technique was not dispelled in time, those wrapped within would turn into White Zetsu, bringing about the end of the world.

To Black Zetsu, the Infinite Tsukuyomi was not about conquering the Shinobi World. Its true purpose was to instantly absorb everyone's Chakra.

Now that both Hagoromo and Hamura were dead, if everyone fell under the Infinite Tsukuyomi, their Chakra would be reclaimed by Kaguya through the Divine Tree.

This would rapidly help Kaguya recover her peak strength.

Why had Kaguya made Hagoromo and Hamura fight back then?

She had wanted to take back the Chakra those two unfilial sons had taken from her.
