Final Thoughts

I published the first chapter on April 15, 2018, and typed the words "The End" for the whole book on October 28, 2019.

It took me a year and six months to finish this 1.57-million-word novel. You could call that turtle speed.

Many newer readers probably don't know that for a long stretch of time—well... to be precise, a third of the time—I was only updating once a day. During the worst few months, it was so outrageous that I updated once every two days.

I even took two week-long breaks.

At the time, I was preparing for postgraduate entrance exams and could only spare a very short amount of time each day to update this book. So I'm truly grateful to the readers back then who actually stuck with me all the way.

You've all worked hard.

Of course, even after I returned to two updates a day, I was still constantly slacking off and getting stuck on the plot. You could say I owed countless updates, yet I never saw any readers say anything accusatory.

I'm truly grateful. Drops to my knees.

To be honest, this book wasn't written all that well. I made far too many rookie mistakes and included too many painful elements early on. Whenever I go back and reread that earlier content, I practically die of cringe!

If I were a reader, I'd probably be tearing it apart nonstop.

I'll take it as a lesson for the next book.
