Background / History

Wang Ye began as a Logistics Department operative in the Heavenly Group. He completed the Heavenly Group assessment by suppressing a weak ghost within eighteen minutes, earning an A-Class evaluation, and was assigned to support Zhou Han. Zhang Ziliang also entrusted him with B-Class classified intelligence. 11

His first Post Office awakening transformed his hands and granted three abilities. Rather than relying solely on physical training, he began pursuing supernatural strength, resources, and information with increasing determination. 17 26

After proving he could instantly suppress a ghost and pull Yang Chen toward him with his second ability, Wang Ye secured Zhang Ziliang’s investment. He was promoted to Team 2 Leader and equipped with advanced Logistics Department resources. 26

Wang Ye later negotiated for substantial autonomy within the Heavenly Group: the right to refuse assignments, a squad slot with authority equal to the Shadow squad, the right to choose its members, and half of the Shadow squad’s resources. Zhang Ziliang accepted the demands and thanked him on behalf of the Human Race. 205

During his travels through ancient domains, the Wasteland, the Buddha Kingdom, and the Heavenly Court, Wang Ye repeatedly used disguises, human-skin props, clones, and factional identities to survive and manipulate larger powers. He adopted the Dharma name Wu Wang while rescuing Jianan, and later impersonated the Great Emperor of the North Pole to deceive Maitreya and Ran Deng. 358 708 712

Meng Po eventually revealed that Wang Ye’s rapid early advancement, altered memories, cleared meridians, and reshaped mental power had been influenced by Lu Qing. This revelation shattered Wang Ye’s confidence in his own natural talent and forced him to reassess his identity. 982

After completing the chest token formed like the character Gui (“rule/order”), Wang Ye entered deep cultivation. Following a long absence, he returned with power sufficient to eliminate multiple Heavenly Court Great Emperors instantly and lead the Human Race’s counterattack. 1037 1052

Appearance

Wang Ye is described as a slender, handsome young man. After reaching the Bodhisattva Realm, his blood-stained body restored itself, leaving him with fair, lustrous skin and regrown hair. 201 579

  • Frequently alters his appearance through human-skin masks, props, and cloned bodies. 358 483 708
  • Can appear bald while using Buddhist disguises or identities. 410 712
  • His Ghost Messenger uniform conceals his presence and provides protection against remote curses. 34 201
  • Often carries conspicuous supernatural equipment, including the Ghost Messenger Blade and, at one point, a red-and-white sedan chair. 54 187

Personality

Wang Ye is calm, observant, and calculating under pressure. He evaluates enemies through small details, anticipates hidden motives, and gathers information before committing himself. His analysis of the Heavenly Group mole and his negotiations with Zhang Ziliang demonstrate both his intelligence and willingness to leverage what he knows. 23 205

He is also opportunistic and resource-conscious. Wang Ye routinely seeks valuable supernatural items, considers the cost of expending his own energy, and is willing to take dangerous risks when the potential reward is high. 255 282 409

Despite his ruthlessness, Wang Ye has a strong protective streak toward those he considers his people. He openly challenged the intelligence behind an illusion after it harmed Lu Wu, declaring that he would not tolerate a friend being bullied. 808 809

His public image is contradictory. Many view him as a feared troublemaker, a robber, or an unpredictable madman; Wang Ye insists that his actions are calculated rather than reckless. 779 813 902
