Peter opened a Sling Ring portal and took Daniel first to Kamar-Taj, a place he had barely visited, then directly to the Sanctum Sanctorum in New York. At that moment, Strange was gathering every sorcerer he knew to discuss Mephisto's arrival—and more importantly, his purpose.

"Our world is the most unique, the most likely to arouse the covetousness of others. Before Mephisto arrived, we were all safe."

Strange did not notice Daniel and Peter's arrival, continuing his analysis instead. "But not anymore. The question is, Mephisto has been capable of doing this since ancient times. Why now? Why did it have to be now?"

"You mean Mephisto had to carry out his plan now, or at least within this recent period." Wong understood what Strange meant. "And that opportunity did not exist before, nor will it exist afterward, correct? What could it be? Spider-Man?"

"We don't know. The only thing we know is that if the Kang Dynasty comes to pass, this opportunity will disappear completely. Therefore, whatever it is must be something Kang wants to destroy, or something Kang does not know exists. Only those two possibilities would be excluded from the Kang Dynasty."

Strange analyzed the only valuable intelligence they had. Whatever Mephisto wanted, it was destined to be something Kang had not discovered and thus had not included in the Kang Dynasty—or something Kang intended to destroy. The latter was Spider-Man, because Peter's abilities were enough to tear apart the Cosmic Cube itself or create a second Cosmic Cube.

That was also why Strange had asked Peter to leave. Peter was very likely Kang's target. As for the former, even Strange had no way of dealing with it. He could only tell the Avengers and the others to pay attention to information Kang did not understand.
