Got Something to Deal With

The breeding farm I used to run couldn't continue for various reasons, so I shut it down last January.

The property was rented from someone else, on a farmer's land. It used to be a coal mine, and there were two office buildings, though the coal ran out before they were finished.

The lease was the Coal Boss's land-rental contract. It belonged to one of my uncles, and he transferred the remaining twenty-year term to me. I ran my business there for five years.

After the buildings and land came into my hands, I finished the half-built offices, put on the roofs, paved the roads, and laid the concrete floors. Without even counting the losses, that alone cost me over a hundred thousand yuan, not to mention the equipment and machinery. I also installed the doors and windows, and everything was left there.

Once I finished the repairs, that landlord came over to make trouble and demand rent. He was a drunk, and in the local dialect, people called him "kuang," which roughly meant a crazy or stupid person.

To be reasonable, the land had been leased to him for twenty years, and my uncle had transferred it to me. I didn't owe him a single cent.

But I didn't want the trouble, so I gave him a little rent.

That settled the matter.

After that, I took over the farm and sealed it up. I kept paying the rent, and left all my things there.

Without even saying hello, he rented out my things for someone else to use.

What was that supposed to mean?

I called him to collect my things, and that bastard said he was going to mess with me.
