Breakfast was simple. Western breakfasts were easy enough to make—milk and fried eggs were plenty. When Li Ruo Bai woke up and came out of the room, she saw Jiang Yan Hai busy in the kitchen and immediately walked over to hug him from behind.
She rubbed her face against his back and mumbled, "Oh... what am I supposed to do if you make me unable to live without you?"
Jiang Yan Hai smiled. With a flick of his wrist, he flipped the egg in the pan before sliding it onto the plate beside him. Only then did he set down the pan, turn around, and rub her hair. "All right, you little pig. You sleep so much. Stop being clingy and go wash up. Breakfast is ready."
"No..." Jiang Yan Hai had already turned around, but Li Ruo Bai still maintained the same posture. Her face had been buried against his back before; now it was pressed to his chest.
"Wait, you're not wiping your eye crust on my clothes, are you?" Jiang Yan Hai suddenly realized and teased her.
Thump! Thump! Li Ruo Bai punched him twice in the back. "Of course not! I cleaned it off ages ago. Hmph! Let me sleep a little longer. I'm not fully awake yet."
"Come on, come on. It'll get cold soon." Jiang Yan Hai smiled, bent down, and scooped her up with one arm. Li Ruo Bai did not resist. She merely wrapped her arms around his neck and rested her head on his shoulder.
Smiling, he carried her into the bathroom in her bedroom and set her down in front of the sink. Only then did Li Ruo Bai let him go and start washing up.
