After nearly fourteen months, I had finished another book. Finally, I could breathe a sigh of relief.

Let me report the results!

By the time it was finished, the average subscriptions had reached over nineteen thousand, just shy of twenty thousand. It was the best-performing book Old Cotton had ever written. This achievement would not have been possible without the support of every reader who had followed along all the way. Old Cotton sincerely bows in thanks to all of you, my patrons.

Thanks to my editor, Blue Light; thanks to the operations officers, Moyi Little Pit and Gargamel; and thanks to myself for persevering all the way through.

Around the latter half of the book, probably last November, I came down with something—I did not know whether it was COVID or a cold—and it felt as though my body suddenly fell apart. I caught a cold almost once a month, my throat hurt at the slightest provocation, and later on, every time I woke up, my hands and feet would stay numb for a long time before recovering. I even felt unsteady while walking. The hospital examination showed that my cervical vertebrae were compressing my nerves...

It was hard to put into words.

That was why the updates later on were such a mess. But no matter what, I managed to persevere and present Dug's story to everyone in its entirety, explaining everything that needed to be explained. Dug had also gone from dog to god, ^_^!

Next, I will take a break for a while, properly recuperate, and recharge myself. Once I come up with a good idea and story, I will start a new book.

Once again, thank you to all new and old readers for your support along the way. See you again in September or
