Aserkelo, the Elven Council.

The council convened today was not a Council of Elders attended only by the five elders, but a gathering attended by all High Elves.

The last Elven Council had been held three thousand years ago, when Aserkelo was still the most prosperous elven capital above ground.

Now, fewer than four thousand of Aserkelo's people remained. Their battle against the enemies who had tried to invade Aserkelo a few days ago had left more than half the entire population wounded.

Coupled with the outsiders establishing a foothold in the Forgotten Land, the entire High Elf population was gripped by tension and panic.

This council would determine the future course of the High Elves.

"Our enemies are not all humans, but the evil cults lurking within the Deep Green Swamp."

Elder Sindonal stood upon the high platform and spoke loudly before all his people.

"The humans who visited the Forgotten Land are guests acknowledged by the Holy Tree. It was precisely through their help that Aserkelo escaped the fate of destruction."

Regrettably, from the beginning of this council until now... the situation had become very clear. Within the Council of Elders, only two still harbored hostility toward the outsiders and wished to drive them away.

Elder Enya had already taken Sindonal's side.

"So... my stubbornness was nothing more than a farce?"

An elderly elder from the Conservative Faction muttered to himself, yet every member of the tribe could hear his voice.

"Elder Capeas, their arrival does not necessarily bring destruction. It is a new opportunity."

Elder Sindonal did his best to speak to the two elderly seniors in a friendly tone.

If they could set aside their stubbornness, the threat of Aserkelo's internal division would no longer exist. One of the elders had clearly already begun to waver.
