"Your Majesty Shael, I offer my condolences for the destruction of your army."

Empress Yekana sat in the highest seat of the Kroshiel stands, basking in the cheers of her people below.

"Personally, I believe your defeat in this battle was entirely caused by that incompetent subordinate." Empress Yekana looked toward the young king seated beside her.

She clasped her fingers tightly and stared down at the arena without saying a word.

Frost Country and Steel Country were both powerful nations of equal strength, and the two had always competed against one another. Shael could see the disappointment in the eyes of some Frost Country citizens in the stands when they saw Steel Country's flag flying over the arena.

But their disappointment was quickly replaced by surprise.

Before the Bronze Dragon could finish announcing the entrance of the fourth team, the amplification Inscription Stone in the arena let out a piercing screech. The next moment, a woman's voice replaced the Bronze Dragon's.

A white-and-gold flag appeared in the arena, bearing in sequence the crests of Frost Country's Eight Great Families.

It was Frost Country's national flag.

The girl holding the flag was known to every Spellcaster in Nolan and was the pride of every magic apprentice in Frost Country... Sophina, the chief of Thunder Mage Tower.

"Your Majesty!" Sophina raised her nation's flag high, stepped into the arena, and knelt on one knee toward where Shael sat. "This time, Master Foya and I will definitely win this tournament!"

"Master Foya? I remember that outstanding Holy Spirit Player is from the Demon Realm."

Empress Yekana immediately turned her gaze toward Shael beside her.

"A mercenary," Shael replied coldly.

Empress Yekana knew that Foya was from the Demon Realm, but that did not mean the Frost Country audience knew it as well.
