"Won't you send someone to investigate? I can lead the way." The Dark Elf had been freeloading in Aserkelo for nearly a month.
"Investigate? Miss, perhaps you don't understand what I do." Joshua showed the Dark Elf several original design drafts on the table.
"Normally, I make films and games, slack off occasionally, write a novel, build an Amusement Park, that sort of thing. Strictly speaking, missions like 'attacking the Judges' base' aren't really my job. Besides... I've been busy making a new game lately."
Joshua did not sound particularly confident when he said that. After all, not long ago, he had led a whole crowd into the Ascenders' sanctuary to cause trouble.
"I understand."
The Dark Elf did not expose just how terrifying Joshua's current influence was. Seeing that he had no intention of exploring the Dark Elves' settlement, she laughed at herself again.
She had once witnessed her sacred tree, her homeland, and her people being corrupted by the sacred tree, and she had exhausted every means possible in an attempt to undo that disaster.
But in the end, all she gained was being swallowed by despair.
Hamburgers and Sin Cola had awakened the last trace of hope within her, but that hope was as fragile as a spider's thread.
Just as the Dark Elf was about to rise and leave, a white bird suddenly passed through the Magic Barrier outside the window and flew in. It cocked its head at the purple-skinned elf.
"Your people's World Tree has been eroded by the gray mist?" the white bird asked.
"Yes." The Dark Elf's voice remained calm.
"Have you thought of any way to purify it?"
Joshua was, at heart, just a coder. Even after spending so long in this magical world, it seemed he knew only a few
