This young lady's escape plan had gone so smoothly that Short Touch Wand found it unreal.
Short Touch Wand and Heimina had successfully boarded a merchant ship from the Coastal Country. Though their assigned room was in the cargo hold at the bottom of the ship... Short Touch Wand could always smell a strange, moldy odor.
But Short Touch Wand only wanted to hide in a corner now, because some of the things he had seen on the way there were simply... too terrifying!
"F-Fireball God above! What on earth were those things on the road?!"
Short Touch Wand's hands were still trembling. While driving the Magic Mechanical Vehicle, he had seen a mass of... flesh appear in the street!
That was the only way he could describe the monster he had seen: a writhing mass of red, rotten meat. The problem was that he could even make out mouths full of teeth on that lump of flesh.
"I don't know either."
Heimina shook her head. Ever since boarding the ship, she had seemed troubled.
By the time Short Touch Wand had calmed the terror in his heart, the ship had already begun moving slowly. He remained curled up in the corner, watching the somewhat sickly young lady beneath the dim light of the Source Crystal Stone.
"I... I won't keep following you after we get off the ship."
Short Touch Wand told Heimina this. He had read plenty of knight novels, and their current situation did fit the setup of one—eloping with some noble young lady and all that.
But the problem was, he was not a knight! He was only a magic apprentice who could cast a few fireballs and was pretty good at games...
