"I am that coordinate."
"A Humanoid Coordinate."
Zhu Zhuyun murmured dazedly.
It was as if she did not dare believe it, yet also as if she had set aside her doubts and wariness.
"The requirements for creating a Humanoid Coordinate are extremely demanding, and the failure rate is very high."
"Of course, the process is even more brutal."
"Because people are not as sturdy as metal. Their ability to withstand spatial power is far inferior to metal's."
"More often than not, while the mark is being inscribed, they cannot endure the spatial power or the pain and are forced to explode, or they choose to end their own lives."
"But in the end, what you gain is proportional to what you give!"
"If Flying Thunder God Marks inscribed on objects can be deliberately damaged, then..."
"The Flying Thunder God Mark on a Humanoid Coordinate is indelible!"
"Skin, flesh, blood, bones, even your soul—only when all of these are completely annihilated will the mark be destroyed."
Lu Yuan spoke with a smile, utterly unaware of how horrifying this was.
Perhaps when the eight-year-old Lu Yuan had calmly stuffed his own appendix back in to survive, he had already cast off his fear of blood and pain.
That was why he could say these words so calmly—experience he had only summarized after countless failures.
After all, the Star Dou Great Forest was not merely Lu Yuan's training ground.
It was also Lu Yuan's testing ground!
Those who are not of our kind are sure to harbor different hearts.
Surely, if those soul beasts who had not even been left with intact corpses one day learned that they had made tremendous contributions toward solving the problems of space, they would smile in the afterlife!
At least, Lu Yuan thought they would smile in the afterlife.
As for whether they actually would...
For anyone who wanted a definite answer to that question, Lu Yuan said he could lend a simple hand.
And for a wielder of Spatial Ability, a body covered in scars was not a badge of honor, but a disgrace.
Because a true wielder of Spatial Ability would always stand elegantly in place, letting violent Spatial Turbulence tear their opponent into pieces.
Like ripping apart a rag doll.
Zhu Zhuyun's eyelashes trembled slightly, seemingly revealing the turmoil surging in her heart.
Her red lips parted.
"What do you need me to cooperate with?"
She was a woman—cough, Girl—with a clear understanding of her situation.
Lu Yuan silently evaluated Zhu Zhuyun in his heart.
Knowing one's own limits was not always a derogatory term. Sometimes, it was praise.
To clearly understand oneself.
Or to clearly understand this world.
Either kind of self-awareness was precious enough.
If Ma Hongjun's self-awareness was an understanding of himself, then Zhu Zhuyun's self-awareness was clearly an understanding of the world.
A coordinate represented a lack of offensive capability.
But if that coordinate could allow someone to cross tens of thousands of miles, or even farther, and appear beside you in an instant, then that coordinate clearly possessed offensive capability!
To waver between being offensive and non-offensive could only prove one thing: the other party had an even greater scheme in mind.
After all, it was like a rich man and a poor man living across from each other.
The poor man only had a knife, while the rich man only had money.
To the poor man, then, his neighbor's home was his treasury.
And at the instant this poor man swung his knife, he changed his mind. Rather than bringing it down, he held it to the rich man's throat.
Then he must have had some greater demand.
At that point, if the rich man wanted to stay alive, he should ask, "How do you need me to cooperate?"
Rather than resist or threaten him.
After all, one's life was one's own, and there was only one of it.
If money was gone...
It might hurt, but it was still better than losing the ability to feel pain at all.
Slow, unhurried applause rang out lonely in Zhu Zhuyun's bedchamber.
"To be honest, I suddenly find myself admiring you a little."
"Strive to prove your worth, then strive to earn the right to be used, and finally strive to prolong the time during which you can be used as much as possible."
"What a fine path forward."
Lu Yuan snapped his fingers, his words brimming with admiration.
Yet that trace of admiration vanished in an instant. Changing the subject, he brought up something entirely unrelated.
"I want to give someone a gift, and it must be a weighty one. Very weighty!"
"Since someone has already chosen half of it first, then as the latecomer, I can only shamefully take the other half for myself."
"Zhu Zhuyun."
"Here!"
The girl straightened her alluring figure, paying no heed to her exposed skin.
"So long as it does not involve me, I permit you to use any means and any method to seize control of—or manipulate—the political power of the Star Luo Empire in a proper, secure, and undetectable manner. Then wait for my next instructions."
"There is no time limit."
"This is the first task I am assigning you. It is difficult—so difficult that it has already exceeded your current capabilities."
Long, fair fingers tapped against the armrest at an unhurried rhythm. But after he finished speaking, those slender, clearly jointed fingers gradually came to a stop.
As if the frame had frozen.
Zhu Zhuyun's pupils shook violently.
A young, handsome, sharply defined face was already pressed close before her!
Two pairs of black eyes met.
She could even feel his steady, warm breath!
Slender fingers traced across her face inch by inch, from her flawless forehead, to her delicate little nose, then to her soft, crystalline red lips, and finally to her seemingly pointed chin, which actually had a faint softness to it.
"I don't like drawing pictures, but I don't mind eating pie."
"If this pie is tasty enough, then while eating it, I wouldn't mind giving a piece to the one who made it."
His low, hoarse voice echoed by Zhu Zhuyun's ear, and she felt her body go slightly weak.
He reached out and gently pressed a hand against Zhu Zhuyun's back. A powerful surge of Soul Power poured into her.
"Ah!!!"
Her ten fingers dug deeply into the mattress as Zhu Zhuyun rolled her eyes, enduring the impact of that immense Soul Power.
Lu Yuan chuckled softly, stroked Zhu Zhuyun's smooth hair, and vanished.
"Eldest Miss, you—"
"Get out!"
The icy voice frightened the maid outside the door until she trembled and immediately fell to her knees.
No one knew how long it took before Zhu Zhuyun finally recovered from that wave of Soul Power that had felt as though it would tear her body apart.
The night, like a receding tide, had begun to slowly fade.
Dawn was approaching.
Her pale little hand picked up the alarm clock in the room. After pausing for a few seconds, she followed her instincts and shoved the alarm clock straight toward her heart.
A miracle happened!
Visually, both the alarm clock and her hand vanished at once!
The girl's lips curled upward slightly.
Perhaps...
This wasn't bad either?
As for what happened on Zhu Zhuyun's side, Lu Yuan claimed he didn't know.
Of course, saying that was a bit too shameless.
More precisely, he truly did not know what happened on Zhu Zhuyun's side after he left.
But as for what happened at Shrek's side...
Lu Yuan did not know at first, either.
Later, he found out.
Seeing Dai Mubai blocked outside the door by Zhu Zhuqing, Lu Yuan casually took out a melon from his Storage Space, cut it open, handed a slice to Oscar, then handed another to Ma Hongjun.
Out all night, clothes disheveled, reeking of rouge...
One look told him Dai Mubai had not done his homework properly.
And the price of failing to do his homework properly was—
He had practically angered Zhu Zhuqing, this little kitten, into swelling up.
Of course, this "swelling up with anger" meant that the Hell Spirit Cat was practically about to turn into a Netherworld Spirit Tiger.
After all, cats and tigers were one big family.
So there was absolutely nothing wrong with a kitty getting so mad it turned into a tiger!
