Background

Emma was born an only child to an ordinary middle-class family in New York. After her parents died in a car accident, Sebastian Shaw helped her through her grief. She joined the Hellfire Club to repay him, despite not sharing his ideals. By that time, Shaw was already the club's Black King and funded its operations. 56

She attempts to telepathically track Richard from a rooftop before he teleports directly to her and Azazel. Emma presents the invitation and attempts to persuade him that attending the party will be worthwhile. 53

Capture and Defection

Richard kills Azazel with Dimension Slash and interrogates Emma about the Hellfire Club's plans, her age, and Wanda and Pietro. Emma confirms that Shaw captured the twins but says only he knows their location. 54

To survive, Emma offers her cooperation. Richard subsequently places an explosive energy sphere inside her, alters her subconscious with telepathy, and removes memories surrounding the incident, making her his subordinate. 55

Fall of the Hellfire Club

Emma gives Richard intelligence on Shaw and the club's other core members, then accompanies him to Miami. She contacts Shaw to determine his location after discovering the Casperdina is empty. 56

When Shaw returns with Riptide and enhanced mutant clones, Emma fights in Diamond Form before Richard removes her from the yacht for safety. 58 Richard kills Shaw, ending his leadership of the Hellfire Club. 64

Administrator and Silver City Manager
