Background
Spirit Hall was founded by the Six-Winged Angel Qian Family and has long been centered in Spirit City. It conducts free Martial Soul awakenings for commoners, maintains branch halls across the continent, and previously rescued Gu Han from an Evil Soul Master's lair before placing him in a Spirit City orphanage 1.
The organization possesses extensive institutional resources, including restricted libraries, records on Soul Beasts, detailed Soul Hunting Forest maps, cultivation facilities, and enforcement teams that hunt Fallen and Evil Soul Masters 8 11 17. Its influence was historically divided between the Qian Family's veteran power base and Pope Bibi Dong's faction. Although Bibi Dong held the papacy, Qian Daoliu retained greater authority among Spirit Hall's established members, affiliated families, and internal factions 115 305.
Bibi Dong's attempt to use Evil Soul Masters to assassinate Gu Han exposed the depth of the internal conflict. Qian Daoliu publicly deposed her for repeatedly harming Gu Han and failing Spirit Hall, then named Gu Han the new Pope 167 309. Gu Han's coronation followed the All-Continent Soul Master Academy Elite Exchange Tournament 316.

History
Bibi Dong's papacy
Bibi Dong accepted Gu Han as her disciple despite his initially poor Innate Soul Power, drawing resentment from Soul Masters and teachers throughout Spirit City 4 13. She supplied him with research materials, Spirit Medicines, light-attribute dragon Soul Beasts, Soul Hunting Forest escorts, and a Pope's Token 6 8 10.
Her administration became increasingly compromised by her attachment to Yu Xiaogang. She brought Yu Xiaogang and Tang San to Spirit City, offering them cultivation facilities and resources despite opposition from Qian Daoliu 112 115. She later ordered an Evil Soul Master faction to kill Gu Han, using the Holy Light Angel Enforcement Team's crisis as part of the plot 165 167.
Gu Han's succession
Qian Daoliu moved openly against Bibi Dong after her repeated attempts on Gu Han's life. He deposed her before Spirit City's Soul Masters and announced Gu Han as the new Pope 309. Spirit Hall formally crowned Gu Han after the academy tournament final, with the ceremony attended by major Soul Master figures and foreign guests 316.
Reform and expansion
Under Gu Han, Spirit Hall distributed interest-free farming tools and taught composting, crop rotation, and intercropping. These measures greatly improved its standing among commoners, while its stewards quietly replaced local nobles in village administration 323.
Spirit Hall also used industrial goods and advanced technology to expand its wealth and strategic power. Its Soul Master Legion received specialized artillery training and industrially produced equipment, giving it a major advantage over conventional armies 323 334.
