The Evil God Gathering Place, now without any evil gods.
"Interesting."
"I didn't expect something like this to happen on Candlewood Island. Interesting..."
Rogue shook his head with a smile as he withdrew his gaze from the public chat.
He had actually considered the possibility long ago. After all, since Spirit Candle possessed an almost real "reality," people would naturally pour their genuine emotions into it as well.
Though Zhang Ming did not know this was actually a real world.
Sekasi was, without a doubt, a real person—not some illusory construct of a program.
So at first, Rogue had truly thought Zhang Ming might make some more realistic decisions.
But unexpectedly, after talking it over in the public chat, the kid seemed to have suddenly figured things out. He had strengthened his resolve and begun seriously treating his relationship with Sekasi.
For now, this was undoubtedly a fairly good outcome.
But...
"Little Ming."
"Characters in a game have fixed endings to their stories and foreseeable futures."
"You don't..."
Rogue thought silently.
To be honest, whether out of consideration for the game or his own inclinations, he had no intention of breaking the two apart.
But even though Candlewood Island was now powerful enough to beat up whoever it wanted and strut around like a crab, Rogue still felt that he was merely the helmsman of a great ship.
He could steer clear of danger through experience, and he could fight bloodily for a path to survival. But if they encountered a true storm, even a great ship could still capsize...
So if something truly happened when the time came, Zhang Ming and Sekasi's ending would be easy enough to imagine.
"Forget it."
"I'll just do my best..."
Rogue turned his gaze back toward Kahel and his Corpse Spirit Race companions.
