A pink snail shell floated in the air, quiet sobs coming from within. The large Aiver stood beside it, at a complete loss.
Little Snail was heartbroken. The departure of someone important to her had made her truly feel the weight of death and parting.
A powerful unease suddenly welled up inside her, because she realized that even Nonia, Burton, and even Rogue, who were always around her... might one day leave her too.
The thought alone made her unable to stop crying. Her tiny body curled up even tighter inside the shell.
Until a familiar voice suddenly called out.
"Little Snail?"
Wowo pushed open the door and cautiously called into the room, but because of her angle, she only saw Aiver.
"Hey, you're Aiver, right? Do you know where Little Snail is?" Since Little Snail had often brought him along to play before, Wowo knew him and asked.
The instant he saw her, Aiver jumped in fright. But after rubbing his eyes, his shock quickly turned to joy, and he hurriedly shouted toward Little Snail.
"Little Snail! Boss Little Snail! Boss Little Snail!"
"She's alive! She's alive!"
"She's still alive!"
He did not even need to say it. Little Snail had already spotted the familiar figure at the door. Leaning against her shell, she stared at Wowo blankly for a long while, seemingly unable to believe it.
"Ah, there you are. I finally found you."
Wowo's eyes lit up. She stepped forward, scooped up the little one, and stroked her head with a finger.
"Don't be sad. I'm not dead. The Candle Keepers saved me, but I can only live here from now on."
"So, Boss Little Snail, can you look after me?"
That familiar touch instantly brought Little Snail back to
