After Shadow took Leti away, Rogue also brought Storyteller back to Candlewood Island.
Naturally, Storyteller was full of questions along the way, peppering Rogue with them without pause.
Rogue patiently explained things to him. Storyteller fell into thought, never having expected to encounter the leader of the Shadow of Deception faction in a dynamic storyline.
After all, this organization had always maintained an extremely mysterious image among the players.
Aside from Leti trying to trick some players during the pioneering phase, the Shadow of Deception had never caused Candlewood Island any trouble during its subsequent development. On the contrary, they had cooperated to some extent.
But that naturally meant they knew very little about the Shadow of Deception.
Yet now, the leader of the Shadow of Deception had suddenly appeared, and it was all because of the Philosopher's Scepter in his possession.
That proved several things.
First, the Philosopher's Scepter was truly important. It was indeed a high-level item.
Second, the Shadow of Deception probably had deep ties to the master of Withered Finger...
Third, judging from the exchange proposal Shadow had made earlier, the Shadow of Deception seemed to know even more than they had imagined.
Not only did they know of the Burning War mentioned in previous intelligence, they even knew about the Extinguishing Moment and the Eternal Altar.
That raised another question: what exactly was the Philosopher's Scepter? What benefits could it bring the Shadow of Deception that they were willing to pay such a price in exchange for it?
Storyteller's thoughts raced. He desperately wanted to know the answer.
But what troubled him was that the Candle Keepers did not seem to have any intention of making an "exchange" for now.
And personally, he did not want to use the Philosopher's Scepter as a bargaining chip
