The Twisting Nether's Disaster: When Demons Who Always Exterminate Others Face Their Own Extermination
Compared to the demons trapped on Argus, waiting to die, the demons of the Twisting Nether were in a far better position.
After all, on Argus, facing the entanglement of the Six Forces meant demons had to choose a death they absolutely would not like while being suppressed by the other forces. Moreover, the paths leading to the Twisting Nether had been completely sealed. Especially after the Everything Unification Field was activated, they did not even have a chance to flee home and gamble on resurrection.
Though demons in the Twisting Nether did not have any notion of "gambling on resurrection"—dying in their homeland meant truly dying—they at least did not have to face the combined restraint and suppression of the other forces.
Although the Burning Legion had suffered defeat after defeat in the material cosmos and now stood on the verge of collapse, its relentless advance during the Burning Crusade over the past twenty thousand years had still allowed demons to occupy vast territories in the material world.
Even if they began collapsing now, the demons still had enough reserves to squander for a long time. Hey, the Burning Legion had mountains of gold and silver—more than it could ever spend!
And logically, before the galaxies of the material world had been reclaimed, those demon-slayers should not have made the Twisting Nether itself the focus of their attack.
But there were always exceptions.
The reappearance of a branch of the Shadow Chasing Swarm in the Twisting Nether—those savage insects calling themselves the "Toranar"—caught the demons completely off guard.
The timing of their arrival was simply too perfect!
The Legion's regular demon forces near this sector had barely been redeployed to defend Argus when the swarm emerged from the star-body's core and blossomed right in its center.
