News of a "Black Sun" appearing in the Twisting Nether swiftly spread through every faction, causing all forces—including the Swarm—to suddenly slow their invasions of the Twisting Nether over the following days.

Yet even though the Swarm had nearly ceased its active expansion and begun turning back to transform the demon worlds it had seized, if all the invaders' territories were added together, nearly two of the Twisting Nether's eight quadrants had already been completely occupied by other forces.

A quarter of its territory had fallen into the hands of invaders from other forces, and the demons who died in the process were nearly beyond counting.

Worse still, the demons who died this time did not merely represent defeat in battle. The fel worlds taken from them through their crushing losses were rapidly breaking free of the Twisting Nether's control.

The rules governing the growth of the Six Forces differed. Life Force required civilizations to prosper; Death Force continued to draw anima; the Holy Light relied on the spread of faith; Arcane focused on researching truth and spreading order.

The Void was rather abstract.

The Void needed to seize the territories of other forces, corrupt them, and convert them.

That was right.

It was exactly what the Toranar Swarm was doing in the Twisting Nether.

They severed the connection between the demon worlds they occupied and the fel will of the Twisting Nether, allowing the Void Will of the Sea of Darkness to exploit the opening. Whenever a fel world was completely consumed by the Void, another barren continent would appear in the Sea of Darkness.
