"I..."
When asked for evidence, Casares seemed to want to say something, but ultimately chose to remain silent.
One of the Abyss Demon Race members nearby could not help stepping forward. "Lord Casares, wasn't there something that night..."
"Shut up. No one will think you're mute if you don't speak!" Casares cut him off before he could finish.
"It seems this companion of yours knows something. If you truly can prove the Abyss Demon Race's innocence, why not let him say it? Or did he deliberately leave his words unfinished just now so that we would think you really had evidence?" Estori said, glancing at the others' reactions.
Quite a few of them seemed to want to speak, but with Casares present, they did not dare.
"There is no evidence. Believe it or not! If you want to fight, the Abyss Demon Race will not fear you." Casares looked coldly at Estori.
"You admitted it yourself. Since there is no evidence, don't blame us for showing no mercy." Gojir raised his chin at Estori after speaking. "Attack together and kill them all!"
"Wait!" Just as the battle was about to erupt, a woman's voice suddenly rang out.
Everyone looked toward the source of the voice. The one who had called for them to stop was actually an angel from the Divine Race.
With a beat of her wings, she drifted out from the Divine Race camp and positioned herself between the three factions.
Her appearance caused Casares's expression to change drastically.
"I can prove that the Abyss Demon Race members remained at this gathering point the entire time that day. No one left." The Four-Winged Angel addressed Estori and Gojir.
"Bell, don't say any more!" Casares hurriedly shouted.
Estori ignored Casares's attempt to stop her, confusion appearing in his eyes.
