Mysterious Person

The Shangjing Survivor Base had also learned of the earth-shattering news released by Wolf Fang Base amid the unrest sweeping all of China. An emergency meeting was convened immediately. It was not chaired by Commander Mu, but initiated by other forces within the base. This alone showed that Commander Mu and Luo Ming's positions in the Shangjing Survivor Base had become precarious.

On the way to the meeting room, Commander Mu's graying hair reflected the weariness of age. With a bitter smile, he spoke softly. "I'm actually glad that my grandson has never been found. Though I can't be sure he's alive, it's still better than being watched by countless pairs of eyes here."

Luo Ming beside him was equally bitter. "Had I known, I would have let Luo Xiaoxiao go with Chu Han to Wolf Fang Base. At least she could have lived carefree there. Here, even leaving the inner city is difficult for her."

"Xiaoxiao has become your weakness now. She's even implicated both our factions." A cold glint flashed through Commander Mu's eyes. "The forces behind Shangjing Survivor Base's upper ranks truly deserve death!"

"It's too late for everything." Luo Ming said no more. The two had already reached the doors of the meeting room, with He Feng following silently behind them. Clearly, he too had lost the right to preside over the assembly. There was less and less room for them in the Shangjing Survivor Base.

Compared to when Chu Han had still been present, more than half the attendees in the conference hall had been replaced. Many unfamiliar faces had appeared, and even the seating arrangements were thought-provoking. At the very least, it was clear that more than three forces wanted to carve up Shangjing.
