Happy New Year

First, happy New Year, everyone! Wishing you all good health in the Year of the Monkey!

And then, about why I stopped updating for the past two days: I originally took one day off because I was sick with a fever, but unfortunately it got much worse. From New Year's Eve through the second day of the new year, I spent most of my time in bed. I had a high fever for two days and a low fever for one, and it just wouldn't go down. For those three days, I was basically asleep the whole time.

Being sick was miserable. I didn't go out to pay New Year's visits, but at least I dodged a round of questioning from the elders.

This afternoon, the fever finally went down. After waking from a nap, I felt reborn. I decisively started writing tonight. It was the first time I'd realized how wonderful it felt to have a clear head, and chatting with everyone here felt especially warm too.

Even though it's very late, and everyone has been waiting for a long time, I still have quite a lot to say.

From now on, I need to exercise more. You all do too—please make sure to take care of yourselves. Play basketball when you should play basketball, do exercises when you should do exercises, run when you should run. Getting sick enough to collapse is terrifying. I practically didn't celebrate the New Year at all this year; before I knew it, it was already the early morning of the tenth...
