Crippling Blow

The distance of 30 AU was crossed in merely three seconds under Hege's utterly unscientific, unreasonable attack.

Even though the helmsman had reacted quickly enough, he was still just a fraction too late. When the attack arrived, roughly one-third of the ship was still within its path and could not completely evade it.

The helmsman's eyes were filled with unwillingness, but there was nothing he could do. He had already done his best.

"Everyone, prepare for impact!"

At that moment, Shangguan Youlan's voice rang throughout the warship. On the bridge, the floor before her had opened at some point, raising up the control console of a warship-type EDAC.

A blinding light instantly filled everyone's vision. The entire warship then shuddered violently, with no sign of stopping.

"Get out of the way!"

The helmsman, who had been forcing the controls hard to the left, could not help roaring.

Outside the warship, several silver-white diamond-shaped barriers on the starboard side were desperately resisting Hege's terrifying attack. But clearly, Shangguan Youlan, merely a B-Class Dark Energy Manipulator, could not block all of it.

The three Dark Energy Barriers she had deployed with all her strength nearly shattered one per second. They had bought the warship only three extra seconds before all collapsing.

Without the Dark Energy Barriers blocking it, the terrifying attack no longer faced any obstruction and slammed into the hull.

Boom. Boom.

The entire warship shook as though struck by an earthquake, while explosions erupted one after another in several sections.

Clearly, even with the three seconds Shangguan Youlan had bought, combined with the helmsman's desperate efforts, they had only prevented the warship from being completely destroyed.

At the rear of the warship, the entire engine section had been utterly destroyed. No—it should be said that it had completely vanished.
