The moon was shrouded in a hazy mist, mysterious and beautiful.

Dong Xuebin grabbed a cup and gulped down a few mouthfuls of water. "I was dizzy as hell. How could I drive? Secretary Hu didn't drink, so she drove me over."
Xie Huilan smiled. "You're quite good at putting my secretary to work, aren't you?"
"Yours is mine. Why should we be polite with each other?"
"Stop fooling around. I'll run you a bath. You reek of alcohol—your Sister Xie is getting drunk just smelling you."
Dong Xuebin put on an act. "Don't bother, that'd be too embarrassing. I'll run the water myself." Xie Huilan looked at him, paused, and smiled. "All right, then. You do it yourself."
"Ahem, I don't know where the hot water heater in your place always acts up. You should go."
"You little rascal, always pretending." Xie Huilan turned and walked leisurely into the bathroom with her graceful, dignified stride.
Dong Xuebin leaned back on the sofa, rubbed his heavy eyelids, lit a cigarette, and took a contented drag. Dinner that night had been quite lively. He figured he would be leaving tomorrow, and time was tight, so he had simply invited all the old colleagues and former leaders he got along with. They had a good meal
