The next day.
Saturday.
The sky was overcast, and a breeze had picked up outside the window. It looked like it might rain.
That morning, Dong Xuebin crawled out of bed, checked the time, and decided to take the day off. The Street Office was closed to the public on weekends, though someone was always on duty. If anything urgent came up, he would be notified.
If yesterday had been a weekend, Dong Xuebin definitely would have gone in even if he was supposed to be resting. But now it did not matter. After two or three days of work, the Guangming Street Office had developed a certain degree of cohesion and fighting strength under his leadership. Nothing could be accomplished all at once; there was no rushing it. He had been in office for less than three days. What he had achieved already exceeded even Dong Xuebin's expectations. Things had gone remarkably smoothly.
After washing up, Dong Xuebin opened the empty refrigerator in search of something to eat. Finding nothing, he lazily called his mom.
Beep, beep, beep. The call connected.
"Mom, I'm off today. Are you coming over? If you are, bring me some breakfast. I'm hungry."
Luan Xiaoping said helplessly, "Mom has a tutoring class. The first lesson is about to start."
"Forget it, then." Dong Xuebin said gloomily,
