I'd finally filled in this book's biggest plot hole!
Some people would definitely say the scope was too small, but filling a hole was much harder than digging one.
If it wasn't filled well, the ending would be a mess.
Some authors couldn't fill their plot holes and simply abandoned the book!
Personally, I felt I'd done fairly well and tied up quite a few earlier foreshadowed threads. Afraid of getting too full of myself, I wouldn't give it a 100, but it deserved a 90, right?!
Everyone could rate it:
1. OK
2. Not OK
There was still quite a bit left to write—going to the Turtle Civilization to show off, returning to the Human Mother Civilization to swagger around, and so on... I'd work hard to reach three million words!
If everyone liked it, I'd write it longer. If the follow-up readership was too poor, I'd write less. That was roughly the plan.
