Within the dense ripples, squad after squad of Fire God Ants poked their heads out, only to be annihilated time and again. At least dozens of squads, numbering over a thousand ants altogether, surged forth before one or two lucky survivors, like the "evidence" Gong Qi had captured earlier, escaped the interference zone of the domain fragments and fine space-time ripples intact—only to be swept away by the howling sandstorm and crushed in another form moments later.

They charged toward death like moths to a flame, for reasons entirely unknown.

Gong Qi observed carefully, forcing himself to stay calm. It took tremendous self-control for him not to rush over immediately. Yet his mind kept turning over the thought:

Even these mere "ants" can pass through the interference point. There's no reason I can't... Fine, calm down. Maybe it's only a tiny opening that needs widening. And I need to investigate what lies on the other side of the interference point.

Gong Qi searched through relevant research papers in his memory, hoping to find more clues and confirmation from the habits of Fire God Ants.

The problem was that no such research had ever mentioned Fire God Ants being able to penetrate a Space-Time Barrier, reach a shattered space, and enter wave after wave merely to die. For an aberrant species with strict social ethics, what was the meaning of such behavior?
