The Digger (Part 1)

With two beautiful women attending to him, Ronan was quickly made presentable. Wearing a bathrobe, he sat in his wheelchair and left the bathroom with Yin Le pushing him. The wheelchair was electric, actually, but since Yin Le wanted to push it, Ronan let her.

Back in an environment better suited to her, Yin Le seized the time to give a more detailed report. "The yacht will reach Claw Island's dock in about seven minutes. Will you be going ashore directly, sir?"

"Mm."

"Then we'll help you change."

"Oh, no need. It probably won't stay on for long anyway. We'll just go as we are."

"...Yes." Yin Le was used to such instructions. Besides, Ban City's temperature in May was tolerable enough, so she said no more.

As for Snake Tongue, she was even quieter than before. Her kimono was half-soaked and somewhat disheveled, yet she did not look bedraggled—at least not on the surface. Following the traditional manner of Ban City women, she moved forward in tiny steps, reserved and humble.

Who could have known that poisonous fire was roiling within her heart, sealed beneath the cold ice of reason as it burned in despair?

Even Ronan, as the one who had set the question and held the answer key, could not detect anything unusual from Snake Tongue's tranquil expression by observation alone. In that very short time, Snake Tongue had already gained preliminary control over her runaway emotions, suppressing them so they would not interfere with her reason while continuing to provide stimulating strength.

Naturally, as Snake Tongue accomplished all this, the Altar Spiderweb was also constructing a more complex, deeper control structure within her mind. Rather than weakening, Ronan's control over her had strengthened further.

This counts as one of my creations, right? Pretty amazing!

Ronan did
