Muttering the name, Ronan became one of the eliminated candidates in a daze. As he left the testing ground, he felt like a walking corpse.
At that moment, the auxiliary Smart Brain standard-issued to every soldier automatically took on a new mission. It controlled his combat suit and linked it to the magnetic rails that ran throughout the base, carrying Ronan toward the target area without his feet touching the ground.
Explosions roared at random intervals, battering back and forth. Some waves were so heavy that earthquake-like shocks made the entire passage sway and heave, tossing Ronan and the hurried military personnel around him off balance.
Fortunately, the magnetic rails remained basically stable, and no one was injured.
Yet on the base map provided by the new mission in Ronan's left-eye display, surrounding routes were constantly being marked red for malfunctions, while some were erased outright. Even the planned route had already been adjusted once.
These changes served as a reminder from the side that the "game scenario" Ronan was in was indeed a dangerous place.
At the same time, the scene before him seemed to have gone beyond the scope of ordinary dreams, fantasies, and simple data splicing. It possessed an inner logic that felt almost real... Ronan had yet to sort it out.
Questions lingered in Ronan's mind. As he moved deeper into this tightly regulated base in the midst of war, his confusion only continued to multiply.

After the new mission activated, the accompanying base map confirmed Ronan's suspicion. The "Relay Station" mentioned by the stern-faced "Sergeant Major" was most likely the same place Ronan had in mind:
