Many people could roughly guess the meaning of the alarm without even checking their Smart Brains. The overall mood of the team shifted slightly, with some whispering among themselves, but compared with the chaos when Sheng Zhan had laid out the "teaching panels," it was nothing.
After all, everyone was already used to it. In a frontline base blanketed by war, where people died at every moment, could anyone really expect fresh, sterile, dust-free air?
The one least accustomed to it was Ronan. According to the operational manual he had studied, they should have begun handling it immediately... yet no one present moved, including the professionals from the Tranquil Underworld Bureau.
People's gazes drifted between the "teaching panels" and the faces of the big shots, trying to find the key to interpreting the present situation.
Ronan already had a general grasp and judgment of the situation. His understanding might even have surpassed that of most people present. Yet limited by his pitiful mathematical knowledge—and, more importantly, the gaps in his overall knowledge structure—the "panels" might as well have been heavenly script to him. Even using the most rigid method of reverse deduction, he found it difficult to extract any logical clues.
It was deeply frustrating.
Liang Lu, beside him, had been jolted out of his dazed state by the alarm. He had barely shaken off the shame of receiving a poor evaluation, but could not yet settle down to study the "panels." In his confusion, he only caught the most stimulating information from outside and instinctively turned to Ronan.
"This alarm feels familiar..."
Ronan gave a soft hum. Struggling to pull his eyes away from the "panels," he turned with Liang Lu toward the device that had issued the alarm.
It was a piece of
