Background / History

Xiao Yan was once regarded as a gifted member of the Xiao Clan, having reached Dou Zhe at age eleven and later attained Dou Ling. His progress collapsed when Yao Chen's weakened soul, residing in the Storage Ring left by Xiao Yan's mother, absorbed his Dou Qi for three years. By the time Xu Haoyu examined him, Xiao Yan had fallen to Three Stages of Dou Qi and endured prolonged humiliation from his clan. 121

Xu Haoyu exposed Yao Chen's presence, forcing Xiao Yan to confront the cause of his decline. Although enraged, Xiao Yan accepted Yao Chen's promise to compensate him and formally became his disciple.
