Background / History

Hongjun hosted reincarnated Chaos Demon Gods at Jade Capital Mountain while secretly treating them as expendable pieces in his schemes. The Heavenly Dao later directed him to Kunlun Mountain, where he was to seize the Three Pure Ones’ companion supreme treasures and undermine Pangu’s descendants. 2 4

Using the largest fragment of the Jade of Creation and borrowed Heavenly Dao power, Hongjun breached the Innate Great Formation around the Three Pure Ones’ conception site. The Merit of World Creation retaliated when his power touched it, severing his Heavenly Dao protection and causing the formation to attack him. He escaped only after calling upon his Three Corpses, suffering his gravest injury since reincarnating into the Great Desolation. 4

Hongjun also attempted to capture the still-unborn Twelve Ancestral Witches with a spiritual treasure and an array. Pangu Hall warned Dijiang of the danger, and the incident gave the Ancestral Witches an enduring hatred of Hongjun. 36

After recovering, Hongjun attempted to gather Chaos-era allies against Luohu. He intended to use Wuxing, Yin Yang, Yang Mei, and others as disposable forces, then profit from their eventual conflict over spoils. Wuxing and Yin Yang saw through the plan and refused; Ancestor Reincarnation eventually agreed only after extracting major spiritual treasures from Hongjun. 40 49 50 57 60

Before the decisive Dao-Demon conflict, the Jade of Creation guided Hongjun to collect the Origin Qi left by Jieyin and Zhunti. Ancestor Reincarnation and Yang Mei concluded that the two fallen beings would eventually return as Similar Flowers connected to Hongjun’s future plans. 105 106

During the Conflict between Dao and Demon, Hongjun revealed his Three Corpses technique to provide the four peak-level combatants needed to challenge Luohu’s Immortal Slaying Sword Formation. In the decisive battle, he self-destructed all three corpses to tear open the formation, devastating Mount Sumeru and incurring a major causality debt to Ancestor Reincarnation and Yang Mei, who contained the explosions. 109 113

Hongjun survived the conflict but awoke with depleted origin and no intact corpses. He began preparing contingencies against the Heavenly Dao’s future control while repeatedly targeting the Three Pure Ones and Twelve Ancestral Witches. His attempts brought him into conflict with the Pangu True Body and Taichu, the combined form of the Three Pure Ones. 137 138 141

After his Good Corpse was defeated by Taichu near Kunlun, Hongjun accelerated the refinement of Hongmeng Purple Qi and attained the status of a Heavenly Dao Saint. He began preaching in Purple Heaven Palace, intending to claim the Destiny of major Great Desolation factions and establish the Heavenly Dao’s authority. 181 182 189

Hongjun ultimately merged with the Heavenly Dao in pursuit of greater Merit, Luck, and authority. Rather than granting him complete control, the integration deepened the Heavenly Dao’s ability to punish, restrain, and direct him whenever its plans were disrupted. 253 260 279 310

As the Three Pure Ones, Twelve Ancestral Witches, Earthly Dao, and Hunyuan Celestial Venerables steadily undermined the Heavenly Dao’s plans, Hongjun suffered repeated deaths, defeats, and losses of Destiny. The widespread abandonment of the Three Corpses Path particularly weakened the Destiny he derived from its practitioners. 505 515 528 564

After being driven into Chaos, Hongjun continued to contend with Luohu and sought to use the Three Pure Ones’ incarnations against him. He escaped Luohu’s Dark Heavenly Net and Earthly Net Formation with the Myriad Arrays Heavenly Book. 644 664 666

Later, the Heavenly Dao used Hongjun as its principal executor in the Earth Immortal Realm, ordering him to mobilize Purple Cloud Palace and its forces. His incarnation oversaw failed Heavenly Dao calamities there, including the Investiture of the Gods Calamity. 713 716 721

Hongjun is calculating, acquisitive, and highly concerned with maintaining the appearance of a detached Saint.
