The Pure Method unfolded!

Li Qi recited inwardly, "The body refers to the five pure material faculties, such as the eye faculty; see the earlier discussion in the Form Aggregate. The five pure material faculties are collectively called the faculty-body. Alaya clings to this faculty-body as its own substance and also takes the faculty-body as the object of its perception. Thus, Consciousness-Only says the faculty-body is Alaya's aspect-object. This is also called the Adana consciousness, for it clings to and sustains the body."
As he spoke, the twelve bases of the body appeared: the eye base, form base, ear base, sound base, nose base, scent base, tongue base, taste base, body base, touch base, mind base, and dharma base.
The twelve bases referred to the arising of the aggregates in each and every sentient being, among each and every class of sentient beings. This was called birth.
Mahavairocana's light shone upon all things, spread through every place, illuminated every dharma. Its radiance stretched ten thousand zhang, sacred and majestic. This was—Great Radiance!
Nature referred to the inherent substance of all dharmas. They were dharmas of arising and cessation; since all of them shared with the world the marks of beginning and end, their nature fell into manifestations of arising and ending, and so they were called mundane. Substance and marks referred to the inherent substance of all dharmas. Though all worldly dharmas arose and ceased, impermanent and originally without true reality, they still stood in orderly clarity, with substance and marks appearing—just as the myriad phenomena of the universe did.
