Background / History

Zhunti and his senior brother Jieyin sought to strengthen Mount Sumeru by recruiting exceptional disciples. After witnessing Yun Ting's extraordinary aptitude, Jieyin proposed bringing him to Mount Sumeru, while Zhunti acknowledged that forcibly taking Tong Tian's son would invite the Three Pure Ones' retaliation. 9

Zhunti was soon accused of burning East King Duke's Dao field. East King Duke presented a Shadow Recording Stone showing a figure resembling Zhunti wielding the Seven Treasures Wonderful Tree amid the flames, while Zhunti repeatedly denied responsibility. Their confrontation developed into a battle before Mount Sumeru. 10 11

He later suspected Yun Ting of causing his disciple Mahasthamaprapta to become entangled in karma. Zhunti attempted to convert Yun Ting and considered forcibly keeping him at Mount Sumeru, but Laozi and Yuanshi intervened; Zhunti retreated behind Mount Sumeru's protection formation. 20 21

Zhunti is described as bald and commonly manifests golden Dharma Bodies in battle. His Dharma Body has repeatedly been damaged, reduced, and reconstructed after defeats. 95 223 758

Zhunti is ambitious and opportunistic, consistently seeking disciples, treasures, allies, resources, and advantages for Mount Sumeru and the Western Teachings. He is also notably defensive when accused, frequently denying responsibility even when confronted with evidence or Heavenly Dao punishment. His concern for Mount Sumeru, the Western Region, and his disciples can override his pride; he has surrendered treasures, endured humiliation, and accepted losses to protect them. 11 44 150
