The gatekeeper of the sixtieth floor was the Dragon Palace's Eighth Elder. He raised his gaze and looked at the three of them. "You have finally come. I have waited here for nine days, and at last I have seen heroes of this generation with hope of ascending the White Jade Steps."
Long Shang frowned. "Eighth Elder, has no disciple-level figure ascended the White Jade Steps yet?"
"Not so far! Long Jiu, Long San, Long Xiaoyue, Long Chunhe—they are all inside." The Eighth Elder pointed at the door behind him.
A sharp glint flickered in Long Shang's eyes. Every name the Eighth Elder had casually mentioned was a prodigy of the dragon clan. Long Jiu, in particular, had once been a formidable dragon clansman capable of matching him blow for blow. Yet even he could not ascend the White Jade Steps. Were these steps truly so terrifying?
The three of them lifted their eyes and stared straight upward. The White Jade Steps ran directly into the clouds, towering beyond reach!
The Eighth Elder said, "Be careful. Having reached this place with your current cultivation, it should have all been wiped clean. Above, there is further suppression specifically aimed at the physical body. Those who force their way through will be injured!"
Long Shang slowly crouched, like an arrow drawn upon the bowstring. Just as he gathered his entire body, the invisible current above suddenly flowed like water, binding him from head to toe. The more power he accumulated, the more the rebound from above increased in tandem.
"Up!" Long Shang roared and shot into the air. With a hiss, the transparent air above tore apart. Long Shang vanished from where he stood and landed on the sixty-first step, his hair flying wildly as though he were an ancient war god.
