July Summary, August Tasks

With today's update, July came to an end. Time for a month-end summary~

In July's 31 days, I took leave twice—once for a day and a half to work out a detailed outline, and once for half a day. Two days in total. I actually updated for 29 days, with a total of 310,000 words.

If not for those two breaks, I would have earned the 10,000-words-a-day badge already.

In terms of update volume, I personally felt my attitude had been very proper. But my update times had never truly stabilized. Although they were no longer as hellish as at the beginning, I really hadn't managed to keep to the promised 2 PM and 8 PM schedule.

I stood at attention and awaited my beating.

So for August's updates, without reducing the volume, I'll strive to be truly punctual.

Having finished talking about update volume and timing, let's talk about the content.

As a newcomer, honestly, I've clearly written more smoothly over these past two months than at the very beginning. It's not to the point of having a plot in mind but being unable to write it anymore. The goal I set back then—learn to write by one million words—has basically been achieved. Let's call it a 75% completion rate.

After all, sometimes I could still feel that certain plots hadn't been handled quite well. For example, character development should seep in silently like rain, slowly shaping people through the plot. But I still couldn't make every laugh and scold into prose, every frown and smile, every word and gesture, every move and stance reveal a character completely.

So sometimes I added some daily-life scenes, using everyday moments to show a person's habits and personality. For example, Feng Chao Fei and Su He repairing the Space-Time Rift.
