Background / History

The Spirit Clan traces its origin to the Spirit Emperor, whose true body was a super Spiritual Artifact rather than a conventional life-form. After becoming a Dou Di, the Spirit Emperor created the clan’s ancestor, Linghu Dou Sheng; the clan emerged fully only after Linghu Dou Sheng married into humanity. This origin left the clan biologically and culturally distinct from the other Ancient Eight Clans. 579

Their early generations were described as mechanical pseudo-humans: rational beings with limited emotional depth. Intermarriage with other races gradually produced later generations with richer human emotions, while the original-generation members were responsible for establishing the Sacred Weapon Project. 617

The Spirit Clan inherited the Spirit Forging Art, later modified into the Forging Fire Art for human-like bodies. Because the original technique was designed for Spiritual Artifacts, ordinary human cultivation of its altered form remained incomplete and dangerous. The clan eventually compensated for missing Spirit Cores through Formation Artifacts, producing a powerful but structurally flawed development path. 490 491

As the world’s Source Qi declined and the prospect of producing a new Dou Di diminished, the clan chose an extreme solution.
