"Damn it, just tell us—can you do it or not?" Garp roared, eyes blazing.

His shout nearly sent the people in white coats to their knees.

The man was a brute. He had "invited" many of them here tucked under his arm.

Sengoku pushed Garp's head down. "Sorry. Don't mind him. Please, go ahead. We're Marines. We wouldn't take our anger out on you."

Reassured by Sengoku's kindly face, the doctors finally relaxed. A man shaped like a ball stepped forward and put it as plainly as he could. "He can't be saved. Wait for him to d— Ahem. Bury him."

"What did you say?" Two furious shouts erupted at once, shaking icicles loose from the walls.

Garp's huge hand closed on empty air. Sengoku had already grabbed the man by the collar and lifted him off the floor. "Say that again."

"Wait! Didn't you say you wouldn't take your anger out on me?"

"Am I taking it out on you? I'm angry at you directly!"

"Oh! So that's what it means!" Garp looked as though he'd learned something new. He stepped up beside Sengoku and shouted, "Aren't you supposed to be some genius doctor? Haven't you performed all kinds of miracle surgeries?"

"Bringing the dead back to life isn't a miracle. It's a divine act!" Hogback was close to tears. He was a genius doctor, not a god. How could he possibly resurrect the dead?

Sengoku calmed himself and asked the others, "Are there any doctors better than them?"

"No!" The answer came not from Tsuru, but from Hogback, still dangling from Sengoku's hand. The round man puffed out his chest proudly. "I'm the best doctor in the world!"

He would have been better off keeping quiet. Garp and Sengoku turned
