History
Xu Xiaoyan first appears in the Spirit Ascension Platform behind her older brother, Xu Xiaoyu. She is frightened by his confrontation with Wu Yang Jin's group; Wu Yang Jin and Gu Yue subsequently defeat him 151 152. She later transfers into Eastsea Academy's Zero Class. Despite having only one Soul Ring, she receives a month-long trial from Wu Zhangkong and resolves to earn the recognition of her teacher, classmates, and class monitor 176 177 179. Her control and teamwork earn her a place in the class 182.
At Shrek Academy's entrance examination, Xiaoyan cannot fully demonstrate her specialty in daylight. Later, she uses an emotional appeal to persuade Zhe Shi to intervene when the group's admission is in jeopardy 271 286. At Tianding City's Star Observation Platform, she absorbs starlight and evolves her Martial Soul. The change removes its ice attribute and alters all three of her soul skills 389 390.
