Background / History

Karl was formerly a scholar who discussed life, death, spacetime, and the Void with Liang Bing beneath the stars. After proposing Void Matter, he was expelled from the Super Seminary. He later named the Styx Civilization's region the Styx Galaxy, adopted the title God of Death Karl, and devoted himself to transforming dominant biological civilizations through Void Matter. 504

He developed the Styx Civilization over roughly three thousand years into a spacefaring force, but its incomplete systems and wisdom left it dependent upon him as the army of his dark forces. After Karl departed, the civilization reportedly made no significant technological or intellectual progress for twenty thousand years. 275

His research led him to abandon organic life and integrate Void Matter into himself. As a Phantom Body, Karl was immune to conventional physical attacks; this state was central to his belief that he had taken a necessary step toward becoming a true god. 56 236 504

Karl's pursuit of the Void included catastrophic experimentation in the Dark Nebula, where he caused the deaths of all life on several planets. He collected Void Matter, created Void Warriors with mechanical bodies, and sought to spread what he called the “glory of death” from the Styx Galaxy across the universe. 530
